Fun in February

February has come and gone without a lot of pictures (at least not for me).  Here are a few of the pictures from this month.  I love some of the pictures of Brecken - he loves to sit in small & confined spaces like under the counter, under chairs, inbetween the chair and the ottoman or the couch and the ottoman - I guess with 3 older brothers, it helps him feel more safe.

And what a month for Dallin - he LOVES asparagus now!  That is HUGE!  

As far as sick kids - we did pretty well this winter until this month (and this month wasn't bad).  Brecken had a nasty ear infection (finally over it), Dallin hurt his neck (just pulled a muscle but missed 2 days of school because of it), and then last night Gavin's ear drum burst (I guess his tubes have come out).  

Draper Temple Open House

Last Saturday, we had tickets to the Draper Temple Open House.  We had all planned on going but I decided it wasn't a good idea for me to go - I get exhausted, tired, & have braxton hicks contractions after standing for just a few minutes, so walking through the new Temple didn't sound like a good idea.

Ed was so good and took Dallin and Matthew.  Even though it was a busy day there - lots of people, waiting in lines, and walking - they were glad they got to go and see the Temple (especially Dallin).  It didn't hurt that they got water bottles & cookies at the end.  I'm so glad they got to go and see the Temple - I just wish I could have gone with them.

Soccer - according to Matthew

The other day I was asking Matthew (& Dallin) if they wanted to play basketball again since soccer starts about 2 weeks after basketball.  Here is what Matthew told me:

"I want to play soccer.  You get to run a lot in soccer and you get to kick.  It is kind of like fighting.  I love soccer!"

Should I be worried?  At least he likes to run!

Obama visits Dobson (my old High School)

Not much has been happening this week at our house - but my mom had an exciting week.  On Wednesday, President Obama spoke at Dobson High School in Mesa, AZ (the high school me and all my siblings graduated from and the school that my mom teaches at).  It turned out to be a crazy but exciting day for her since on Tuesday, the principal, told her that since she was head of the Social Studies Department she had a ticket to go to the President's speech.  He was talking about the stimulus package he had signed the day before.  My mom said it was fun to see everything that happens when the President comes (including Dobson getting all fixed up and looking great and all the Secret Service).  Anyway, she sent me some pictures (and the White House is suppose to be sending them more) that I thought I would share.  She ended up being on the 7th row on the floor so she had a GREAT view.

Brecken - a Little Boy Who Knows What he Wants

Brecken definitely knows what he wants.  Last night (or really this morning), he woke up and was crying (not normal for healthy Brecken).  Bless Ed, he went in to calm him down - but it didn't work.  A minute later Ed was back in our room and Brecken was still crying.  So, I got up and went in, held him for a minute and went back to bed.  When I got in bed this is how our conversation went:

Ed - How did you do that?

Me - I picked him up and held him for a minute and put him back down.

Ed - Oh.  I picked him up and he put his hand out and felt my face and started crying more.  So, I thought that meant he wanted to be in his crib so I put him back down.

Me - He loves me!

Ed - He just wants his Mommy!

Me - Oh, he needs to get over that!

More Snow Fun (from January)

Valentine's Day Fun

Valentine's Day was not nearly as exciting as I had hoped for the kids - I had thought of lots of things to do but just didn't have the energy to do much of anything.  We did manage to do a few things - pink pancakes, making Valentine's, watching Madagscar 2, driving up the canyon and having a snowball fight (Ed, Dallin, & Matthew that is), and Cafe Rio for dinner.  Ed and I did watch a movie after the boys went to bed - and then I was all done.  Ed was good and got me 2 dozen roses - he didn't get much of anything from me.  I hope to do better next year.

Adorable Bows (never thought I would get to blog about this)

My friend Sherri (we worked together before we had kids) made me all these bows when she heard one of the twins was a girl.  They are so cute and I can't wait to use them.  It is so weird to have these in our house - they seem so out of place.  But I know I am going to NEED a TON more.  Luckily, Sheri has a little business so I can get more.  Here is her website if you want to check them out:  www.shindyz.com

As you can see, the boys (Matthew & Gavin) had a great time making Mommy "cute" with all the bows in her hair.  Gavin kept saying "Mommy is cute" and Matthew just kept laughing!  It will be fun to see how they react to their little sister!

Brecken's Rough Day

My poor little guy!  He has had a cold (nasty nose, cough) for over a week.  The last couple of nights he has been waking up at night (4 times last night - and each time he was crying and just wanted to cuddle, and he is NOT a cuddly little boy).  He has been really fussy, not eating well, and then this morning, his left ear started to oozy nasty yellow stuff.  So, off to the doctor we went (since I wasn't sure if his tubes were still in or not).  He had so much gunk in his ears that the doctor couldn't see if his tubes were in.  She tried taking the gunk out and was able to get some out (which must have hurt because I have never seen Brecken scream/cry like that, ever) but not enough to see.  So, he is getting ear drops and hopefully it will help - I really need the sleep!  But mostly, I need him to feel better!

This picture is of him in the shopping cart after getting his drops - he also has blood on his shirt from when he fell and bite his lip, he is drooling because he is teething - he is kind of a mess.

Dallin's Winter Poetry Program

Dallin's class did a little Winter Poetry Program a little over a week ago - here are some pictures from it.  The pictures aren't very exciting since it was a Poetry program.  But it was fun to be able to go and watch him.  He did a fabulous job (as always)!

Not much else has been going on here since we found out what the twins are going to be.  I have been resting a ton.  I think they must be in a huge growth spurt because I am extra exhausted!  

And the TWINS are . . .

Holy cow!  I can't believe it.  We are going to have a little girl and a little boy (okay - actually 5 little boys)!  Twin A is the girl and will be born first.  Twin B is the boy and will be born second.  It was so much fun to see them in the ultrasound.  She is already kicking her little brother in the head and he is doing flips!  They both look really healthy and are about the same size (she is about 1 pound 11 ounces and he is about 1 pound 12 ounces).

I had to do a little shopping after Ed and I went to lunch.  I bought 2 cute little dresses (I just need to get little shirts/onsies to go under them).  Poor little guy didn't get anything new (that is why there is just a truck in the picture above and no clothes) - but I won't forget about him.  He will get plenty of stuff and attention!

We are so excited to have seen them and for them to be healthy!  Now I just have to figure out what to do with a little girl!

Ultrasound Day is Almost Here!

Finally, it is almost time for my ultrasound.  Tomorrow at this time (10:00 am Utah time), I will be at the doctor and getting to see the two little ones inside me.  I can't wait!  I just hope they are healthy!  And I hope I can get a little sleep tonight - I am so excited and nervous!  Dallin can't wait to find out what they are so he can give them "great names".

Here is how my kids voted (I guess I should actually count their votes):

Dallin - really wants 2 boys but thinks it would be good to have another girl in the house so he says one of each

Matthew - "definitely 2 BOYS" (he does NOT want girls)

Gavin - every time you ask him says it is "one boy and one girl"

Brecken - has no idea what is going on but he is in for a huge surprise

Sledding Best Buddies

Matthew LOVES his best little buddy Josh (who luckily lives next door).  If they could, they would play all day every day - and never fight or have any problems.  We LOVE when Josh comes over - they play for hours and hours without needing anything.  A few weeks ago, Josh came over when Ed was pulling the kids behind the Taylor's 4-wheeler.  Boy did Matthew & Josh have a GREAT time!
